As Seabury Hall's Craft Fair approaches, I wanted to feature one of my dearest, and most gifted of friends...the incredible Sherri Reeve! If we have had the pleasure of hosting you at one of our condos or you have seen the photos of them on this site, you may notice the gorgeous watercolor paintings that adorn the condo walls. We exclusively feature the brilliant artwork of this talented artist, well known as Maui's premiere watercolorist whose vivid colors and incredible multidimensional technique are uniquely her own. Sherri and I have been longtime friends for many years, and I am truly blessed for her friendship as she is one of the most loving, unconditional, kind-hearted, generous women I have ever met, not to mention an amazing talent and extremely intelligent businesswoman. We love gifting friends and family with Sherri's unique artwork and urging them to visit her beautiful gallery in Makawao whenever they have a chance. And because their gallery is managed by her amazing niece Makana and run heir world class service makes you immediately feel at home and keeps customers returning for visits not just for her artwork, but to catch up with Sherri as they quickly fall in love with this woman as a dear, cherished friend. This year Sherri's artwork will once again grace the Seabury Hall Craft Fair, but not only will you be able to purchase SReeve originals from their booth, but her gallery will also remain open in Makawao Town and will be exclusively featuring the jewelry of my daughter for Kealani Designs Jewelry. You will surely be able to get your fill of beautiful SReeve Designs...so make sure you stop by at craft fair and swing by the gallery on your way home...there's nothing like a SReeve original...and truly no one like Sherri. Add Comment This past Friday we had the pleasure of attending Makawao Town Party's first fashion show and was so very proud of our friends at Paragon Salon for hosting & organizing such a great event! After taking in the show we joined our dear friends for drinks & dinner at our favorite local Italian restaurant, Cassanovas. It had to be one of the most successful events, and such a wonderful way to spend time with friends and family. My daughter also had a fun-filled weekend with her friends here on Maui, and thankfully decided to share them with me here on my site. After taking in the Makawao Fashion show on Friday she made the 2 hour drive to beautiful Hana yesterday for the 20th Annual Taro Festival with her friends, a bit of swimming at Hamoa (an amazing black sand beach), then came back into town for another fashion show featuring the talented designs of students from our University of Hawaii Maui College campus. And in honor of Earth Day, she is taking her godson to the Maui Arts & Culture Center this evening as they are screening a kids film 'Bee Movie' under the stars for a wonderful family event. It truly has been one of those special weekends that reminds us of how much our beautiful island has to offer, and how lucky we are to live here...here are some of my daughter's pics for a photo diary of her weekend...hope you enjoy! Being that I have lived and raised my family in beautiful Upcountry Maui for the past 30 years, I know I am a bit biased in my love for this part of the island; the cooler breezes, picturesque country landscape, quaint Historic towns, smell of eucalyptus & seasonal jacarandas in bloom are all so quintessentially Upcountry. It is my family's home and will always be special to us for that very reason. This being said, we always love to support local products and events, and especially those of our Upcountry family. We have loved attending Wailuku's First Friday Town Party each month, and were thrilled when it finally caught the Upcountry bug and moved to Makawao Town every 3rd Friday of each month. It has only been a few months, but it has been an amazing success and is so thrilling for Upcountry residents to see Makawao and Baldwin Avenue bustling with activity as everyone celebrates the festivities. This month in particular I hear will be an exciting special event for Makawao Town Party's 3rd Friday, as they will be hosting their first fashion show featuring clothing and accessories by local Makawao boutiques with hair and makeup styling by the fantastic ladies of Paragon Salon. It is such a joy to see Makawao thriving thanks to this great event, so come Upcountry this Friday, April 20 for delicious local food at the many vendors and restaurants in Makawao (Makawao Garden Cafe is one of our family favorites!), browse local boutiques & galleries (Sherri Reeve's Art Gallery is our fav, and the woman behind all the stunning artwork that adorns our condo walls), enjoy the fashion show and other local performers who will be filling the streets of Makawao with fun for the whole family! |
