We've been to the top of Haleakala many times and each time we've gone it's been both beautiful and coooooold. Not what you expect on Maui. Make sure you take a blanket and some warm shoes.

Photo Tip: My favorite Maui photo was taken on Haleakala. I took a photo standing behind the people taking photos the sunrise just as the sky started to lighten up. You can see their outline against the sky and nothing else. Try it and let me know if it's not one of your best photos too.
